On a sunny but cold day pigs welcomed harrogate pythons for a mid table clash with pigs looking to cement 7th place.due to combination of poor handling, discipline& similarity in sides the first half was a non event with both sides huffing & puffing to no end product.pythons dominated field position but pigs defended stoutly with aspin & potts to the fore a sin bin for vice captain birds eye frith made the defensive effort all the more creditable. In the 5th minute of 2nd half pigs were yet again penalised at ruck area so Harrogate took a 3 -0 lead then further disaster struck as aspin was penalised & sin binned. In an effort to liven things up spencer ,beale & hirst were brought on & it worked immediately with all 3 punching holes deep into opposition territory from which ben brown crashed over & bowskill converted for a 7-3 pigs lead who now had their curly tails up & a penalty soon came which bowskill converted 10-3 to pigs.In last minute harrogate charged a kick down in 22 to score under posts & convert 10 - 10.With just enough time for kick off harrogate then stupidly got penalised & bowskill joyfully kicked the penalty for a hard fought 13 - 10 win.special mention goes to connor new perm brown for another tireless display.assistant coach mick shouler said"It was a good hard fought victory & we will take a scrappy win anytime. If it wasnt for massive defensive stints we would be penalising ourselves out of matches but its something to work on in close season".We would like to thank all supporters for their efforts throughout season it is much appreciated & best wishes to departing head coach andy tyers who is currently recovering from a new knee operation which was sponsored by booths scrapyard.

Stocksbridge are to travel to Wetherby who are currently unbeaten in the league for two seasons next week in the final league fixture of the season for Yorkshire 3, hoping to put a marker down in stead for next season. There is a bus trip on again for this fixture, so please contact the captains or team managers if you would like a seat.

Thank You,

Assistant coach Mick Shouler,
