Globe Holidays sponsored Stocksbridge Rugby were once again victims of the weather, as a snow filled Coal Pit Lane stadium forced their Counties 4 Yorkshire (phase 2) South clash with Thornensians RUFC to be cancelled early on Saturday morning. Along with several other postponed fixtures, a convenient date will now need to be agreed for a reschedule. This is an unprecedented 7th postponement during this season, & it’s difficult to recall a worse season for weather affected cancellations. The 1stXV were able to take in the 6 Nations International victory for England over Wales, as the Manchester Road HQ is showing all 6 Nations fixtures live on the big screen. Skipper, that man Adam Frith & his charges must now focus on next weekend’s trip to Leeds, to play the students of the Medics & Dentists, before further travels to the East Coast the week after, 24th February, to take on Hessle RUFC under the Humber Bridge. The next scheduled home fixture will be on Saturday 2nd March when Hessle will make the return trip to the Coal Pit Lane stadium, kick off 2.15pm.
