As pre-season training intensifies under the watchful eye of Head Coach Aaron Kaye, positive updates on his injured players will no doubt lift the mood within the squad.
Captain & talisman 2nd row, Andy 'clock tower' Beal is recovering from a neck strain, he is able to train but is limited in contact sessions for a few weeks, he should be fit for the start of the league campaign. Broken foot victim, Reece 'diesel' Aspin is now ready to return to light training at the end of the Month, & is ahead of schedule to be fit for the start of the season. Mason 'forest' Goldsworthy is also back in training after an ankle break, & he too has set a target to return for the beginning of the season. The news on 'happy hooker' Mikey 'Vegas' Hartley is not so encouraging, he has undergone further surgery on a troublesome ankle injury to remove the screws & plates, & is due to see the surgeon for an assessment & review shortly. His return to training date is not yet confirmed, & a playing comeback may still be some Months away.
Meanwhile, the numbers are good for training, & Head Coach Aaron Kaye is already building the structure for both offensive & defensive plays, as well as plenty of conditioning work. 'the boys are really enjoying being back out on the park', said an upbeat Kaye, adding ' there is plenty of work to do , but there is plenty of positive buy in for the sessions so far.'
Pre-season training continues at the Coal Pit Lane Arena every Wednesday from 6.15pm, & new players are always welcome.
