With pre-season training well underway, Globe Holidays sponsored Stocksbridge Rugby are looking healthy both on & off the field. Training numbers are high, & Player/Coach Aaron Kaye has also recruited further talent to add to his playing roster. Competition for places will be high, & that is just how Kaye wants it to be prior to the opening league fixture on 6th September. 'the boys are digging in well', said an enthusiastic Coach, adding, '& the new recruits will add competition for places, which will make us stronger'. Stocksbridge start the Yorkshire Counties 4 South competition with a home clash, welcoming newcomers Hallamshire RUFC to the Coal Pit Lane Arena for a 3pm kick off. An early local derby with neighbours Wortley RUFC is scheduled for the following week, with further Fox Valley Trophy matches to follow in November & March, although Fox Valley currently have no plans to support these fixtures as they did successfully last season. Stocksbridge will then host Sheffield Medics & Maltby RUFC on successive weekends.
Off the field, the Commercial department has been busy with all kit sponsor opportunities, & club sponsor packages now sold out. There are a few individual player sponsorship packages still available along with limited pitch board opportunities. The club has also announced a 4-figure sponsorship deal with new kit providers Akuma, which will see playing kit & other branded merchandise available to purchase at discounted prices. The new season is now just 5 weeks away, & it looks like Stocksbridge Rugby club, are ready for action.
