The highly anticipated Round 9 clash in the Yorkshire 4 Counties competition between Globe Holidays sponsored Stocksbridge Rugby & the students from Leeds Medics & Dentists fell victim to the cold front & will now have to be replayed at a mutually convenient date. Just one fixture in the latest round survived the bad weather & the Stocksbridge club are running out of available dates for re-arranged matches. Stocksbridge will now focus on this weeks trip to Humberside, to face Hessle RUFC under the Humber Bridge, where they will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s high scoring victory to boost their lowly league position. Stocksbridge may well have that man, Club Captain Adam Frith back fit after a troublesome ankle injury to lead his troops into action. The next fixture at the Coal Pit Lane stadium will see Stocksbridge entertain old foes Thornensians RUFC, with a 2.15pm kick off on Saturday 16th December. This will be the Christmas Jumper fixture with prizes for the best turned out jumper !! Stocksbridge will then have a break from action until the New Year, giving Head Coach Andy Lawrence time to work on the fitness & form of his playing roster.
